Matakana
Tui Tours visits Matakana, a picturesque village situated just north of Auckland as part of the Matakana and Beyond tour.
Matakana is home to many talented artisans. Our tour includes a visit to and a guided tour of the renowned Morris and James Pottery. See some of their amazing creations being made and stroll round the showroom with its kaleidoscope of colourful works.
This region is the home of over 30 boutique vineyards, olive groves, restaurants and the famous Matakana Village and Farmers’ Market featuring locally grown food and produce. Settled in the 1840’s Matakana has a proud history and strong sense of community.
The nearby beaches are popular with Aucklanders, many of whom have holidays houses (baches) here.
