Auckland Art Excursion
In our Colonial to Contemporary Auckland Art tour, experience Auckland’s beginnings with a visit to historic Pah Homestead which is also home to one of the largest collections of contemporary New Zealand art. The gardens host a display of some interesting modern sculptures.
Alberton House is a beautiful example of early Auckland architecture furnished with original period furniture. Depending of the weather, we will have our lunch on the verandah overlooking modern Auckland or in the cosy kitchen complete with coal range.
Pounamu
No visit to New Zealand is complete without seeing greenstone (pounamu) being carved into intricate traditional and modern jewelery and pieces of art. We visit the Kingsland Greenstone workshop and studio where you can see this stone transformed.
After driving through Parnell Village and the Auckland Domain we complete our tour along Tamaki Drive for a glimpse into Auckland’s beach lifestyle.
